Nigel Foster, Ana Beard Fernández & Michel de Souza - Songs by Latin American Women Composers IC

The Echoes of Ibero-American Classical Music Festival, with the support of the Cervantes Institute, presents Nigel Foster, Ana Beard Fernández and Michel de Souza in "Songs by Latin American Women Composers".

In collaboration with the London Song Festival, dedicated entirely to female composers this year, we continue to explore the repertoire of art songs written by Latin American women as part of the Music and Women series of events.

The programme covers pieces dating from the 19th to the 21st centuries, by composers from Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil and Cuba, including such popular songs as “Bésame mucho”, “Júrame” and “Hasta la vista”, as well as lesser-known gems. With themes as diverse as food and drink, love and passion, temptation, life and death, the music will also be performed by dancers, who will bring a taste of Latin American vitality, joy and passion to an autumn evening in London.
