Rendezvous with Cinema. Tótem loba

We’re kicking off the 2023 programme for our online film club Rendezvous with Cinema with Tótem loba, a film directed by Verónica Echegui. Actor and director Verónica Echegui won a Spanish Film Academy Goya Award for this short based on a true story. This narrated thriller takes the genre to an unsuspected level and achieves unexpected results. Synopsis: Estíbaliz accepts her school friend Raquel’s invite to a festival in her hometown. What seems like a fun, exciting weekend quickly turns into a nightmare when Estíbaliz discovers that the town’s tradition is for men to dress up as wolves and hunt women in the night. What’s even more frightening is that no one seems to be bothered nor alarmed by this awful tradition.
