The virtual film club `cita con el cine´ dedicates its October session to the film ‘a mujeres de espana María Lejárraga dir by Maria Hojmna, a sevillian filmmakers who has previously dedicated her films to two massive influential figures of Castilian literature: Ruben Darío and Antonio Machado.

This documentary, nominated for three of the biggest national prizes in cinema (the feroz, the Forque, the Goya), it si s delicate work on the recovery of historic memory. No only is it an homage to the writer and pioneer of feminism, but also the chronicle of a historic moment. Led by bright and brave women, who wanted to make a better future and whose dreams of progress fell through upon the break out of the civil war.

Synopsis: the works of María Lejárraga (1874-1974) the most prolific Spanish playwright of all-time, author of works such as Canción de Cuna,or El amor brujo de Falla, was published in the Second Spanish Republic, in addition to being the founder of forward thinking projects for the rights and freedoms of women.

This activity is moderated by the personnel at the Instituto Cervantes and includes speacialists who took part in the making of this film (cinematographers, camera operators etc) enjoy Spanish cinema!
