Third act of In Conversation series: Carolina África with Paula Paz. Carolina África is a playwriter, director, actress, teacher, producer and co-founder of La Belloch Teatro SL, Her works include Summer in December (Calderón de la Barca National Prize 2012, programmed in the CDN 2016), Vientos de Levante (New Dramaturgies INAEM 2014, programmed in the Teatro Español in 2017 in el ciclo 2 piezas 2, selected in the Competition of directors of Torrejón 2017), La penúltima (awarded in Berlin 2011. Encinart Prize. La Rioja 2013), the monologue against gender violence My name is Carolina and the show Modërna for Frinje 2016 co-written and co-directed with Julio Provencio. She has collaborated in the collective dramaturgy of the projects: A seven steps from Don Quixote (Spanish Theater 2016), Calderón Cadáver (Almagro, Frinje 2015), ¿Qué está escondido tras la pared? (CDN 2016), and the monologue Sólo es una foto within the Home project of the Spanish Theater 2017. She has been nominated for 3 Max awards and finalist in the Revelation Authorship category in 2014. Her shows - written and directed by her - have toured Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay and Mexico. Some of her pieces have been published by the Center for Theater Documentation and Ediciones Antígona -among other publishers- and translated into English, French and Romanian. She recently directed a double dramatised reading in English and Spanish of Verano en diciembre / Summer in December, at the Cervantes Theater in London.
