Ellas Flamenco - Argentina
Instituto Cervantes is collaborating in the twentieth edition of the Flamenco Festival to be held from 27 May to 8 June 2025, with an exceptional programme in venues such as Sadler's Wells Theatre, Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler's Wells East, Kings Place and Jazz Café. In this edition, the festival will feature 17 companies and a total of 25 performances by some of the most important artists on the current flamenco scene, both in dance and in vocals and guitar. Argentina is an international artist who, despite her youth, has had the opportunity to perform at some of the most renowned flamenco festivals and on emblematic stages such as the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The Huelva-born singer has an extensive repertoire that incorporates other musical genres such as Cuban son, salsa, Portuguese fado and Argentine tango. In Flamenco by Cantaora, accompanied by flamenco guitar, Argentina delves into the roots of flamenco and presents a wide range of songs. Some of these songs are unusual, such as the cartagenera, the granaína or the petenera. This performance will also feature the hallmark of her homeland: the fandangos from Huelva. He draws on experiences from his childhood and from his beginnings singing in flamenco peñas. This show is full of colour, strength, emotion and dynamism.
