Antihomage to Nicanor Parra

Having overcome the barrier of his own centenary, the Chilean writer Nicanor Parra died last January. Member of an authentic dynasty of artists that includes among others his sister Violeta, creator of the "anti-poetry", the recent winner of the Cervantes Award Nicanor Parra has been one of the most brilliant, and at the same time most controversial, poets of the twentieth century in Spanish Language.

In this second lecture of the series Authors in Search of a Reader, aimed to spread among the British reader the work of Latin American writers still not very diffused in this country, Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with El Ojo de la Cultura and ZTR Radio, has summoned the participation of the English critic and biographer Adam Feinstein, author of the best seller Neruda, a passion for life, and a great connoisseur of Parra's work; and Pablo George-Nascimento, grandson of the first editor of the poet and editor himself, who met the honoree. Parra poems will also be read in Spanish and English.
