José Miguel Moreno in concert

José Miguel Moreno is one of the most reputable interpreters of Renaissance and Baroque plucked-string repertoires, as well as great Specialist of Spanish repertoires from the same period. In his recital, he will give an overview of the repertoire for the Spanish guitar between 1500 and 1700, using original instruments such as the vihuela and the baroque guitar. The audience will be able to familiarise themselves, through Moreno’s use of the noble vihuela, with the Renaissance repertoire, from the songbooks to the great editions of the sixteenth century, experiencing the music of Diego Ortiz along the way.  Alongside this, through his guitar pieces, Moreno offers music from two of the most important books dedicated to the instrument from the Baroque period, edited by Guerau and Sanz.
