40TH Flare Film Festival

40TH Flare Film Festival BFI

Instituto Cervantes is taking part in the 40th edition of the BFI Flare: London LGBTQ+ Film Festival, one of the most important international events dedicated to LGBTQ+ cinema.

To mark this special edition, the Cervantes reinforces its commitment to promoting Hispanic culture and amplifying diverse voices within the contemporary audiovisual landscape.

The institution collaborates with the festival through the programming of four Spanish films: Otro hombre by David Moragas, Jone, a veces by Sara Fantova, Maspalomas by Aitor Arregi and Jose Mari Goenaga, and Extraño Río by Jaume Claret Muxart — works that explore sexual and gender diversity from multiple perspectives. The presence of the Cervantes Institute at this anniversary edition of the festival not only celebrates four decades of LGBTQ+ cinema in London, but also reaffirms the importance of promoting inclusive narratives and offering new cultural windows to global audiences.
