Ciclo Ellas Flamencas - Ángeles Toledano
Instituto Cervantes is collaborating in the twentieth edition of the Flamenco Festival to be held from 27 May to 8 June 2025, with an exceptional programme in venues such as Sadler's Wells Theatre, Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler's Wells East, Kings Place and Jazz Café. In this edition, the festival will feature 17 companies and a total of 25 performances by some of the most important artists on the current flamenco scene, both in dance and in vocals and guitar. A rising star on the flamenco music scene, Ángeles Toledano brings her powerful voice and fearless artistry to London, presenting a show that combines tradition with innovation. On her latest album Sangre Sucia, Toledano explores the duality of heritage and modernity, weaving deep-rooted flamenco singing with contemporary influences. The performance is an emotional journey through strength, vulnerability and resilience, capturing the essence of flamenco in its purest and boldest form. In this concert, the cantaora will present some of her new songs in duo format, alongside her usual flamenco repertoire, bringing her wonderful perspective to each of the different styles of flamenco singing. Benito Bernal, who accompanies her on guitar, is one of the most important names when it comes to the future of flamenco guitar. They have been working together for years, and that connection and mutual understanding of flamenco is reflected on stage. In this performance, they will maximise the essential elements: the vocals and the guitar, leaving ample space to show the audience all the talent of both performers. With their striking presence and masterful delivery, both Ángeles Toledano and Benito Bernal promise an unforgettable evening, where passion and artistry light up the stage.
