Victoria - Requiem 1605

The Instituto Cervantes in Leeds is delighted to collaborate with Leodis Consort in presenting the concert Victoria – Requiem 1605, the remarkable work composed by Tomás Luis de Victoria.

Composed in 1605 for the funeral rites of Empress Maria of Austria and Portugal, this Requiem is widely regarded as one of the most profound and moving achievements of the late Renaissance. Leodis Consort is proud to perform this masterpiece of Spanish polyphony, distinguished by its restrained intensity, contemplative spirit, and deep sense of transcendence.
