New cinephilias. The spirit of resistance of the other Spanish cinema.

«The other Spanish cinema» was the label given to a branch of cinematographic production by the generation that emerged at the beginning of this century. It was a result of the digital revolution, and also the possibility of exploring new narrative models in order to appeal to contemporary viewers and being already familiar with the self-conscious elements of postmodernity, the quality and representativeness of many of these works has been highlighted by screenings at festivals and have created a new cinematographic culture that has reinvented cinema going. Since the second decade of this century, independent and more formally challenging cinema has found a place in the hearts of cinema buffs, which in turn, has acquired new profiles and new audiences, especially among younger spectators. This selection of films aims to give an insight into the works of a sample of the recent generation of Spanish filmmakers. This season of films is in collaboration with the European Film Festival of Seville.
