The Beatles only visited Spain together as a band once. It was as part of the The Beatles ’European Tour 1965 that took them to Paris, Lyon, Milan, Genoa, Rome, Nice and concluded with two concerts in Spain, in Madrid and Barcelona. The idea for this concert tour was organized by their manager Brian Epstein, who was known as the "fifth beatle". To learn how this gigs in Spain were organized and the impact they had on Spanish society, the director of the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and Leeds will be interviewing professor and musicologist Javier de Castro, who has published several publications on The Beatles and their impact on Spanish society.
