Politics in the Streets: Ez, Eskerrik Asko! La ventana de Gladys (Bertha Gaztelumendi, 2019)

In the late 1970s, the anti-nuclear movement managed to bring together a wide range of ecological currents in Spain. Moreover, the mobilizations against the State's nuclearization plans sometimes resulted in significant victories, such as the campaigns to halt the commissioning of the Lemoniz nuclear power plant. Despite these successes, there were also painful losses along the way—most notably that of activist Gladys del Estal, who was killed during an anti-nuclear demonstration in Tudela in 1979. Her memory has inspired the environmental movement in the Basque Country ever since—and also this film.
