CineScience: Women in Science
Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and Leeds in partnership with the Association of Spanish Scientists in the United Kingdom (SRUK) of the North West and Yorkshire organise a new session of CineScience where cinema and science are associated to bring scientists and their advances closer to society.
This edition is dedicated to the mathematician, writer and teacher María Andresa Casamayor, a Spanish scientist who excelled in the use of numbers and arithmetic in a man's world. Her work Tyrocinio aritmético is one of the few 18th-century Spanish women scientist works that has been preserved. In 2018 she was included in the periodic women scientist, which represents women in science from around the world.
