The Barcelona Flamenco Ballet has established itself as one of the major emerging flamenco companies worldwide, standing out for its youth and its successes in Spain, Lebanon, the United States, Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, China, etc. The Barcelona Flamenco Ballet presents a ground-breaking and versatile show, one that vindicates traditional and innovative flamenco at the same time. Contemporary, modern, Spanish and flamenco dance merges with classical music, jazz and the most traditional flamenco, forming a suggestive staging with a cast of consecrated artists from their land. This is flamenco for the 21st century. The group is directed by David Gutiérrez Molina, an award-winning flamenco dancer of international standing and the youngest person to be admitted to the UN’s International Dance Council. He is supported by co-director and young and up-and-coming dancer Paula Sánchez Reyes, flamenco singer Joel de Pepa and guitarist Jordi Centeno.
