Óscar Martín Centeno at the AHGBI Annual Congress: AHGBI

The University of Leeds will be hosting the annual conference of the Association of Hispanists of the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of the celebration of "100 years of Spanish" at the University. It will be an academic and cultural meeting that will bring together once again international specialists to pay tribute to the centenary and also the historical and linguistic heritage.

The congress will feature the prestigious Spanish writer Óscar Martín Centeno.

Martín Centeno received in 2006 the "Premio Internacional Florentino Pérez-Embid" from the Real Academia Sevillana de Buenas Letras for his first book 'Mirrors faced', published by the Rialp in the Adonais collection. In 2007 he received the "Premio Nacional Nicolás del Hierro" for his second book 'Las cántigas del diablo', published that same year. Also in 2007 he won the "Paul Beckett International Award" for his third book, 'Sucio tango del alma', published in 2008 by the Valparaíso Foundation. In 2010 he received the "Antonio Gala International Award" for his book 'Circe', published by Alhulia in 2011.

'Transmedia poetry and more' will be a poems recital where the music and the visuals created by the author are intertwined in a fully integrated way. All the elements form an intergeneric proposal that reaches the different senses. The union of different artistic languages on the poetic voice weaves a universe in motion for emotion to flow.
