Voices that explore reality

Voices that explore reality Foto: sus autores. Diseño: Estudio Garp, Instituto Cervantes

Join us for this conversation with three authors who, with their sharp and daring voices, explore the complexities of the body, identity, pain, and the alternatives we create to survive. Emma Sepúlveda (Chile/USA/Spain), Marta Sanz (Spain), and the acclaimed Irish writer Caoilinn Hughes will reveal some of the threads connecting their narratives.

Emma Sepúlveda will discuss her novel When My Body Stopped Being Your Home, a work that addresses with great sensitivity family memory and loss of freedom, abuse of power and repression, based on a true story. Marta Sanz will talk about Clavicle, a book that challenges the boundaries of genre to reflect on pain, illness, and social pressures. Caoilinn Hughes will talk about The Alternatives, a novel that intertwines the story of four sisters and their different ways of navigating a world in crisis.

All three authors have been recently translated into English and Spanish, bringing their writing to a new international audience.
