A Journey Through Ibero-America on the Harp

A Journey Through Ibero-America on the Harp Instituto Cervantes Dublin. Garp Studio

We are pleased to present a unique and inspiring proposal for a harp and voice concert, specifically designed for the 45th Annual Conference by the Association of Contemporary Iberian Studies. Immerse yourself in this audio experience that combines tradition with contemporary interpretation to celebrate the rich musical heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.

The concert will feature the talented Spanish harpist and singer Pilar Paradela, who will create an immersive and emotive atmosphere. The repertoire will include a selection of works ranging from the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque to original modern compositions inspired by Iberian folklore, with a nod to the sister countries across the Atlantic. Each piece has been carefully selected to highlight the diversity and depth of the Iberian Peninsula's music, taking the audience on a journey through time and emotions.

This concert not only aims to entertain but also to foster a greater appreciation for harp music outside the usual classical context. Pilar Paradela studied at the Conservatory of Music of Salamanca (Spain). Harpist and composer based in Dublin, she has played at prestigious venues such as the National Gallery of Ireland. Pilar blends harp and voice with various styles such as jazz and flamenco, uniting classical music with modern sounds and giving a fresh touch to this magical instrument.
