Talking Translation - Words and Images, Truth and Lies

Talking Translation - Words and Images, Truth and Lies Pep Herrero

Featuring Spanish writer and translator Enrique De Hériz; publisher, Irish language translator and author Micheál Ó Conghaile; Catalan writer and artist Alicia Kopf; and Irish novelist Sara Baume.

Enrique de Hériz studied in Barcelona and from very early worked professionally in publishing. In 2000 he decides to leave his post as director of publishing house Ediciones B to dedicate fully to his true vocation: writing. He has published four novels (The Manual of Darkness, Lies, Historia del desorden and El día menos pensado) which have consolidated him as one of the most read and critically acclaimed Spanish writers at present.

Alicia Kopf is a writer and multidisciplinary artist. Her artistic work seeks to understand the concept of exploration, linking the epic of the North Pole explorers to personal and auto referential elements. A sample of this is her project Articantàrtic, where we find a map by H.C. Selous, as the one John Ross used in his journey (1829-1833), in which the real geographical places are replaced by locations within the artist imaginary. Her novel Brother In Ice explores the relationship between literature and visual arts.
