Mediterranean Italy: Terraneo and live music

Mediterranean Italy: Terraneo and live music Vincenzo del Vecchio

Our trip to the Mediterraneo stops at Italy with the presentation of a graphic novel and musical interludes, organised by the Embassy of Italy and the Istitutto Italiano di Cultura in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Ireland, and the support of the Instituto Cervantes Dublin.

The authors of the book Terraneo, published in Italian and in Spanish, and addressed to a young audience (+7 y.o.), will discuss with Marco Gioacchini, director of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Dublin about their work.

The encounter will be enriched by musical interludes with pieces by Italian and Spanish composers (Mauro Giuliani, Paganini, Manuel de Falla, Pablo de Sarasate, Gaspar Sanz, Fernando Sor) performed live by young musicians Jamie Gogan (guitar) and Valentine Laporte (flute).

About the book
Terraneo is a mythological story about the origin of the Mediterranean, a fable about the bond between the peoples bathed by that sea, a journey through the imaginary cities that caress its coasts and through the spirit of its inhabitants, those who perhaps existed one day and who inhabit them today.

Some copies of the book will be available onsite for purchase.

This event is part of the programme at the Instituto Cervantes Dublin on the occasion of the Spanish EU Council Presidency.

This event is organised and financed by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Dublin – Embassy of Italy in Ireland.
