La canoa de Ulises
Globalization has also reached the jungle, and the generational gap is more striking than ever. While a teenager is more preoccupied with so-called urban music, an elder, carrying all his ancestral wisdom, fells a tree to build a canoe. He does so while simultaneously planting a new tree, leaving a legacy for those who—with luck—might follow.Synopsis: Itaeté and Ulises, an elderly man and a Guarani teenager, are deep in the woods building a canoe. Itaeté tries to instill his traditional legacy in the boy, but the youth is not very interested. His true calling is music. He is a rapper. This cultural clash puts more than just tradition at risk.
