Writing the lives of others

Writing the lives of others Asís G. Ayerbe

Our two guests are well established journalists and authors who specialise in acquainting us with the life and work of other artists. They are also magnetic and curious characters who reveal mysteries to us through their writing. But what happens when an author tells their own story? What can we learn from how they write? Can we sense the person behind the author, or the author behind the journalist?

With Jesús Marchamalo and Cristín Leach. Moderator: Jean-Philippe Imbert

Biographies:

Cristín Leach is a writer and The Sunday Times Ireland’s longest serving art critic. She is also broadcaster, whose short fiction and personal essays have been published in many different platforms. Her first book is the memoir Negative Space.

Jesús Marchamalo is a nationally recognised Spanish writer and journalist. His large career as a cultural journalist, both in radio and TV, and his almost twenty books have made him one of the most powerful voices of the country.

Jean-Philippe Imbert is researcher and publisher on literary and artistic representations of Mexican, Irish and French 20th and 21st centuries. He has also curated major photo exhibitions at international festivals in Mexico, France or India.
