Embrace of the Serpent
Karamate was in his day a powerful shaman in the Amazonas; it is the last survivor of his people and lives in a territory deep in the jungle. He has spent years in solitude, which have made of him a “chullachaqui”, an empty shell of a man, private of emotions and memories. But his lonely life turns around the day Evan finds his hideout, an American etnobotanic in search of yakruna, a powerful hidden plant, capable of making you dream. Karamate agrees to accompany Evan in his hunting and together they will travel to the heart of the jungle where the past, present and future blend in together, and where the shaman will slowly recover his lost memories.
