Black Diamonds

This is a drama based on the real situation faced by many young Africans who are brought to Europe to be turned into football stars. It was directed by Miguel Alcantud and filmed in locations such as Lisbon, Madrid or Mali.

The film tells the story of two 15 year old teenagers who travel from Africa to Europe with the promise that they would become soccer stars. Amadou and Moussa, childhood friends are spotted in Mali by an agent, separated from their families and brought to Madrid in search of stardom. Their travels through Spain, Portugal and Northern Europe will uncover the shady soccer business first hand.

It won the Audience Award at the 2013 Malaga Film Festival.
