We invite you to a special event to celebrate Europe Day with two leading experts who will analyse the role of the European Union in today's world. The event will feature two high-level presentations followed by an open discussion with the audience.

  1. The Uniqueness of European Values in a World in Crisis, Prof. Dr. Alejandro del Valle Gálvez: What sets Europe apart in an increasingly chaotic world? Dr. del Valle analyzes the "triad" that sustains our identity: Democracy, the Rule of Law, and Human Rights. While these principles are proclaimed worldwide, they enjoy a much more robust protection and a unique interpretation within the European Union. In this lecture, we will explore why—in this era of international disorder—it is more urgent than ever for Europe to act as a united political voice that defends these values and international law in the face of global powers.
  2. European Geopolitics and Strategy on the New Global Stage, Prof. Dr. Susana del Río Villar: Dr. del Río will analyze the "awakening" of the European Union as a global power facing today’s greatest challenges. The talk will cover the pillars currently redefining our continent: from security and defense to the commitment to homegrown industry (Made in Europe) and the digital transition. We will discover how Europe seeks to balance its core values with practical goals like competitiveness against giants such as the US and China. Additionally, the author will present her latest book, Doce mujeres europeas (Twelve European Women), a journey through the history of European integration seen through the lives of key women who build the Union every day.
