Creating a collaborative book
S.M. Bolinas
To create is to sow seeds, to toil, to try and try again, to not give up, to enjoy oneself, to marvel at what we find along the way. Under the guidance of Chilean author Sergio Missana, who has published a number of children’s books with his own children, we invite you to take part in this collaborative workshop, where you will share in the creative process with other participants. And this brings ISLA 2022 to a close, with the beginning of a new thing, an enriching and inspiring project.
Sergio Missana is the author of the novels El invasor, Movimiento falso, La calma, El día de los muertos, El discípulo, Entremuros and Las muertes paralelas, translated to English as The Transentients. He has published the essays La máquina de pensar de Borges, La distracción and Última salida: Las humanidades y la crisis climática. In collaboration with photographer Ramsay Turnbull, he published a collection of travel chronicles, Lugares de paso. He co-authored (with his daughters Maya and Sofia Missana) five children's books. Sergio Missana holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Chile and an MA and PhD in Spanish from Stanford University. He is a Professor of Latin American Literature at the Stanford University Bing Overseas Studies Program in Santiago, Chile, and serves as Executive Director of the Climate Parliament, a global environmental NGO.
