Cervantes Dublin Choir
The Cervantes Institute Choir Dublin encourages the use of the Spanish language in Ireland through music. Spanish speakers of all abilities – from beginner to fluent - come together to sing. The relaxed and fun atmosphere at rehearsals makes the Cervantes Choir the perfect opportunity to get to know music from all over the world, especially Hispanic songs. The emphasis in the choir is on singing together, playing musical games, learning new skills, while also picking up new Spanish vocabulary. It’s perfect for people who want to practise their Spanish and sing at the same time. Before long, you’ll be performing in concerts alongside some new friends!
No musical experience is required to join the choir. All you need is a voice and you’re set! Rehearsals are every Monday evening from 7-8.30pm at the Cervantes Institute (Dublin 2).
The choir is directed by Dónal Kearney, singer and choral educator. As Director of Fingal Academy of Music, Dónal manages Fingal Children’s Choir, Fingal Youth Choir and Cór Fingal. He coaches singers for Ulster Youth Choir and the National Boys' Choir of Great Britain, and is a certified Community Music Leader with international humanitarian organisation Musicians Without Borders. Dónal performs around the world as a soloist with internationally-acclaimed choir ANÚNA. He has recorded as a soloist for global brands like Nintendo, World of Warcraft, and Beats by Dre. He has worked extensively with singers across Ireland and the UK and has delivered workshops in the USA, Canada, Japan and China. He’s delighted to combine his love of the Spanish language with his passion for singing!
