Coro Cervantes Dublin: First Session

Coro Cervantes Dublin: First Session Dónal Kearney

After a successful first term learning a variety of songs in the Spanish language, Coro Cervantes Dublin will continue into 2018. Singing everything from traditional melodies to medieval pieces and modern pop songs, this choir will develop its repertoire along eclectic lines, also looking for ideas from its members.

Rehearsals focus on applying vocal technique, learning through Spanish, meeting new friends, and - most importantly - having fun! The group plans to follow up its concert in December in the Instituto Cervantes with another concert in the New Year.

No musical experience is required to join the choir. All you need is a voice and you’re set! Rehearsals are every Monday evening from 7-8.30pm at the Cervantes Institute (Dublin 2).

The choir is directed by Dónal Kearney, singer and choral educator. As Director of Fingal Academy of Music, Dónal manages Fingal Children’s Choir, Fingal Youth Choir and Cór Fingal. He coaches singers for Ulster Youth Choir and the National Boys' Choir of Great Britain, and is a certified Community Music Leader with international humanitarian organisation Musicians Without Borders. Dónal performs around the world as a soloist with internationally-acclaimed choir ANÚNA. He has recorded as a soloist for global brands like Nintendo, World of Warcraft, and Beats by Dre. He has worked extensively with singers across Ireland and the UK and has delivered workshops in the USA, Canada, Japan and China. He’s delighted to combine his love of the Spanish language with his passion for singing!
