Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club: Samuel Beckett in Spanish

Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club: Samuel Beckett in Spanish Estudio Garp

Do you love theatre and want to have a great time exploring something new? Join our Theatre Club! This season, we’ll dive into the world of Samuel Beckett, but don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert or a fan of absurdist theatre to participate. This is a relaxed and fun space to enjoy, learn, and play with his works.

What will we do together?
  • Group Reading: We’ll delve into the Spanish translations of Waiting for Godot and Happy Days, discovering what makes Beckett’s characters and dialogues so unique.
  • Comparative Study: We’ll discuss fascinating and curious ideas, such as comparing Waiting for Godot with Dámaso Alonso’s Hijos de la Ira, always with an accessible and enjoyable approach.
  • Creative Improvisation: We’ll unleash our imagination by creating texts and scenes in Beckett’s “absurd” style, but with our own personal touch!
  • Fun Character Exploration: We’ll step into the shoes of Beckett’s characters to understand what drives them and what holds them back.
  • Staging: We’ll wrap up the experience with a small performance, pressure-free, to share what we’ve created together.

Whether you’re a theatre enthusiast, a curious student, or simply someone looking for a good time in a creative environment, come unwind, laugh, and discover art from a different perspective. The Cervantes Theatre Club is waiting for you!
