Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club: Man up

The Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club begins a new season focused on the play Man up by playwright Andrea Jiménez. This theatrical work challenges the traditional narrative of masculinity through irony, irreverence, and absurd humor, inviting participants to question established cultural assumptions about what it means to be a man. At a time when traditional models of masculinity are being redefined, the play creates a space for reflection and for imagining new forms of identity and expression.

Participants will explore and work with the text from both an analytical and practical perspective, examining its themes, language, and structure. Through character study, they will deepen their understanding of conflicts, motivations, and relationships, while developing interpretative tools using voice and body. The club provides a creative and collaborative environment to strengthen stage expression, presence, and confidence, encouraging exchange and group work.
