Flamenco dance, online. Bulerías
In this flamenco dance workshop focused on learning important aspects of the history, body technique and understanding of flamenco as a unique expression of Spanish popular culture, the Spanish bailaora Sandra Palomar will teach a new style of flamenco: Bulería.
Within the different flamenco modalities, Bulería is one of the festive palos (rhythms) par excellence. Its name is believed to derive from the allusion to the party, mockery, noise, chufla or fulería. In this workshop we will have the opportunity to delve into the history of rhythm, the different styles and the richness in this type of dance expression, as well as its music and song. Once we’re familiar with the above, we will learn to dance al cante (flamenco singinig), using tools to improvise within the rhythm and movement.
Each session includes:
- 10 min warm-up
- 10 min tapping
- 10 min rhythm and clapping to the bulerías beat
- 25 min choreography
- 5 min stretching and farewell
