Spanish Street Art: Waterford Walls Festival
Waterford Walls Street Art Festival has been responsible for the creation of over 200 large scale public artworks which have regenerated and transformed Waterford City Centre and county. This year for the 2021 festival, 20 artists from around the world have been invited to paint 21 walls including Spanish artists, Maker & Land and David de la Mano.
Maker & Land
Waterford Walls and Instituto Cervantes Dublin are delighted to announce the participation of artist duo Maker & Land. Two Spanish artists who merge elements of ethnography with daily life items and objects, creating unique images with different readings according to the interpretation of each person. Their freestyle shows a set of pictorial and graphic skills that define the visual identity of this emerging artistic collective.
David de la Mano
Waterford Walls and Instituto Cervantes Dublin has an extra poignant reason to welcome David De La Mano to Waterford in 2021. David is one of the 150 street artists who participated in Djerbahood, the project in Tunisia which inspired Edel to found Waterford Walls Project in 2015. David de la Mano is a Spanish contemporary artist best known for his stunning murals often depicting silhouettes, trees and other monochromatic imagery. His large-scale, black and white pieces provoke reactions among the viewers and encourage their emotions and ideas through a minimalist aesthetic.
