Allende, mi abuelo Allende

Allende, mi abuelo Allende Marco Avilez

After completing her film training and forging a career as a short filmmaker, the granddaughter of President Salvador Allende surprised the world of cinema by undertaking this very personal documentary. Her approach to the mythical figure of her grandfather, whom she did not know personally, since he left with only two years to exile in Mexico, had an immediate recognition and earned her her participation in the Cannes Festival, in addition to an excellent career in other contexts that testify to the value of this documentary proposal in the first person.

Synopsis: Director Marcia Tambutti Allende, granddaughter of Salvador Allende, reconstructs with this documentary the life and image of her grandfather, the socialist president who was overthrown by the army in the coup d'état of September 1973. Together with other members of his family, in this film they break the silence imposed by exile and pain.
