Abriendo ventanas

Abriendo ventanas Oscar Baiges

In her incesant work, director Vicky Calavia uses documentary to go beyond its informative power and work in pursuit of memory and knowledge. In Abriendo ventanas she makes an invaluable approach to the history of women who transgress their socially attributed roles. The interview format is accompanied by a mise-en-scène that exemplifies much of the courage and terrible vicisitudes that these women have gone through in their lives.

Synopsis: A story in seven voices, in which seven LGBTIQ women make their affective-sexual and gender diversity visible through their experiences, halfway between drama and humor, tenderness and reality, which is not always easy in their day a day. A story of emotions, desires and affections, which goes from the binary —black and white—, to color, to the plurality of options and choices, of ways of being and being in the world, through the relationship with the own body and gender.
