The Peruvian Film Festival features a showcase of films produced in Peru, highlighting the talent of the country’s national cinema. During this third edition, two films will be screened at the Instituto Cervantes: Rosa Chumbe (2015) and Manco Cápac (2020), which explore human resilience in the face of urban solitude and social indifference.
Both feature films offer a raw and profound look at contemporary Peruvian reality from very different perspectives. While Rosa Chumbe immerses us in the chaos of Lima through a story of redemption, faith, and fractured motherhood—set against the backdrop of the Lord of Miracles' religious fervor—Manco Cápac soberly portrays a young migrant's tireless struggle for survival and dignity in the city of Puno.
