Welcome Mr. Marshall!

Don Pablo, Mayor of a small Castilian town receives the visit of the local authorities, who informs him a representation of the US government will visit as part of an economic recovery plan. People from the town, rich and poor, receive the news with great excitement; they see it as their opportunity to get their dreams come true or simply satisfying their more basic needs. Despite the distrust this visit arises among some of them, the authorities decide to organise a warm welcome to the American representation, with the help of Manolo, the agent of a folk singer, Carmen Vargas, who happens to be in town on tour. Their plan consists in changing the physiognomy of the austere Castilian town, making it look Andalusian, full of colour and joy.
