Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Through the collaboration of Instituto Cervantes, Spain’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be celebrated in various countries, through a series of cultural activities showcasing the richness and diversity of Spain's cultural heritage.

Coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of the passing of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago has orchestrated a tribute to Picasso alongside the artist's only statue in the city, brought to life by the Ensemble Español dance company, under the direction of choreographer Carlos Rodríguez. Similarly, the Instituto will commemorate the European Day of Languages, promoting multilingualism and celebrating the linguistic diversity of its member countries.
