Meeting of guest poets and local poets

Poesía en Abril is a Festival organized by DePaul University, contratiempo and the Cervantes Institute, brings together poets from Chicago with poets from other states and countries to discuss and exchange criteria and ideas about contemporary poetry and about events that affect humanity. Through our poetry dialogues in Spanish, we can evaluate and testify to the channels and forms that poetry is taking after the new circumstances that are given and offer some clues about the latest paths of poetic language. In addition, each year we pay tribute to two outstanding Spanish-speaking poets with notable poetic careers. The poets Miguel Marzana and Margarita Saona will moderate a conversation between the poets participating in the festival and the local poets about the experience of writing in this literary genre and the place of poetry in today's world.
