The House of Bernarda Alba Water People Theatre

To celebrate the 120th anniversary of Lorca's birth, Water People Theater in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago present the Theatrical Concert La Casa de Bernarda Alba –The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, Directed by Iraida Tapias.

The House of Bernarda Alba is a tragedy that charts the tyranny, jealousy and desperate struggle for freedom that ultimately tears a mother and her daughters apart. It was Lorca’s last play, completed on June 19, 1936, two months before Lorca’s assassination during Spanish Civil War.
