Kick Off Chicago Flamenco Festival 2020: Contemporarte Juan José Jiménez López

Contemporarte is an artistic creation contest organized by the University of Huelva (Spain) in conjunction with the rest of public universities in Andalusia, within the framework of a common program called Atalaya Project and which serves as an observatory of Andalusian culture. The opening of the exhibition is part of the begining of this year Chicago Flamenco Festival. Born in 2009, Contemporarte seeks to reward works of contemporary photography by authors belonging to the Andalusian university community, who do not receive awards in the usual way, but instead set the price of their works so that the Jury judges whether they want to acquire it or not. In this way, the authors enter the usual procedure of the art market, and learn to value their own work according to criteria adjusted to reality. Authors: Péricles Dias de Oliveira, Sonsoles Martínez Linares, Alba Ruiz Lafuente, Ines Paredes, Constanza Araya Valenzuela, Laura Rodríguez Díaz, Matías Habert, Marcos Gómez Barker, Juan José Jiménez López, David Villalba Díaz, Borja Alcázar Rodríguez, Álvaro Escriche López, Alberto Torres Wilson, Sandra Mirey Reyes, María Luna Huerta, Cristina Monereo Atienza y Jesús Marina Barba.
