On May 10, and on the occasion of the inauguration of the library of the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago under José Emilio Pacheco's name., we will inaugurate a bibliographical exhibition. Eight decades of play and affection, conceived as a retrospective in which two central aspects of the author's life will be highlighted: childhood, together with early adolescence, and academic issues. Through six blocks, viewers will have the opportunity to approach Pacheco's work from different perspectives In addition to the profuse work of Pacheco, different support texts will be shown to address his work. By way of introduction: The poetry of universal destruction (Octavio Paz, 1983) and The book we all wanted to read (Elena Poniatowska, 1989). About his poetry, The labyrinths of the air (Mario Vargas Llosa, 1964), The field of imagination (Rosario Castellanos, 1963), as well as Calmness and conflagration (Mario Benedetti, 1990). On his narrative will be presented Language and hope (Jorge Rufinelli, 1993), The novel about genocide (Margo Glantz, 1979), The battles of childhood (Hugo J. Verani, 1985) and Deep affinities (Antonio Deltoro, 2017 ), about their inventories.
