Flamenco guitar workshop for beginners
This workshop is designed for students that have no previous experience with music or guitar. We will start from the beginning by playing notes, rhythms and basic chords on the guitar. We will explore flamenco guitar rhythm and beat. Tiempo, armonía y técnica de la guitarra flamenca.
Ángel Ruiz He started in flamenco guitar at the age of 12 receiving classes from Philippe Donnier and Rafael Rodríguez "Merengue de Córdoba". Ruiz began his professional career at the age of 18 at the Tablao "El Cardenal" and Tablao "La Bulería "(Córdoba-Spain) and in performed in various flamenco festivals. Ruiz received the First Guitar Accompaniment Award in the "Young People" contest Flamencos from Córdoba. He moved to Seville, where he became part of the Andalusian Dance Company under the direction of Antonio Gades and José Antonio Ruiz, making numerous performances in national and international theaters.
He also participated in the shows "Encuentros /" Bodas de Sangre " under the musical direction of Juan Requena, and "La Legend" at the La Maestranza Theater in Seville under the direction of José Antonio Ruiz. He worked at the Flamenco Festival USA 2004 in the show "Golpes da la Vida", together with dancers Rafael Campallo and José Antonio Ruiz. The show was presented in New York City's City Center amongst other theaters in the city. He was the guitarist for the Ballet Flamenco de Cristina Hoyos for the show "A weather". In addition, Ruiz was lead guitarist of "Hijas del Alba" for the Ballet of Murcia, under the direction of choreographer Javier Latorre (National Dance Award). He has worked with many renowned flamenco dancers, including Daniel Navarro, Pedro Córdoba, Pol Vaquero, Álvaro Paños, Alejandro Granados, Isabel Bayón, Antonio Granjero, Nino de los Reyes, Rafael y Adela Campallo and Jesús Carmona.
