Flamenco to Tap and All That Jazz Flamenco to Tap and All That Jazz

This concert will present the cross cultural connections of flamenco and jazz with international award winning guest artists and musicians.

Yinka Esi Graves, international flamenco dance sensation from Sevilla, making her Chicago debut; Victor Garcia, jazz trumpeter, and Leandro Lopez Varady, pianist, from the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic; Wendy Clinard, revered flamenco dancer from Clinard Dance, Chicago; Bril Barrett, founder of M.A.D.D. (Making a Difference Dancing and rhythm director of the Chicago Tap Summit; Diego "El Negro" Alvarez, Latin grammy winning percussionist from Venezuela; Jose Moreno, flamenco singer, dancer, guitarist and percussionist from Sevilla; Jose Diaz 'Cachito', flamenco singer from Barcelona; Jose Manuel Alconchel, flamenco guitarist.

The concert will run 90 minutes with no intermission and will feature a Q&A with the artists. This program is part of the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, in residence at Northeastern Illinois University, American Spanish Dance and Music Festival now celebrating their 48th Anniversary.
