Olivia Maciel Edelman is autor of the poetry volumes Cielo de Magnolias (2015), Sombra en plata | Shadow in Silver (2005), Filigrana encendida | Filigree of Light (2002), Luna de cal | Limestone Moon (2000), Más salado que dulce | Saltier than Sweet (1995); and of the monograph Surrealismo en la poesía de Xavier Villaurrutia, Octavio Paz y Luis Cernuda. México 1926 – 1963 (2008). She is editor of the volume Vanguardia en Latinoamérica. Ensayos (2008), and of the anthology of poetry Shards of Light (1998).
She has received the First Prize for Poetry in Highland Park, IL (2022), First Prize for Poetry in Spanish, Northeastern Illinois University (2014), Poet´s House Award, New York (1996) and the José Martí award for essay, University of Houston (1993). Olivia Maciel received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in Romance Languages with specialization in Spanish and Latin American literature. She was born in Mexico City and resides in Chicago.
Jorge L. García de la Fe Cárdenas, Cuba, 1954. Poet and essayist. Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Language and Literatures at the University of Havana (1981); Masters in Latin American Literatures and Cultures at Northeastern Illinois University (2012). He was a professor of Hispanic Literatures at the Pedagogical Institute and the University of Matanzas (1981-2007). He has published the poetry books: Aunque la nieve caiga de repente, Pandora Press, 2015; Camino de imposesión (homoerotic sonnets), La Mirada-El Béisman, 2019; Décimas inquietudes, Editorial ARJÉ, Miami, 2019; Cuerpo que se deja ir (1 and 2), VITRALES C.E., 2019; Te lo digo en rima (proverbs paraphrased in décimas), Editorial VITRALES C. E. 2022. He resides in Chicago where he is a professor of Spanish and Hispanic American Literature at Harold Washington College.
