We close the year on our Vimeo channel with the celebration of The Shortest Day [ED+C], an initiative that celebrates the short film format and its expressive possibilities.

For this edition, we proposed to the Rural FilmFest a program that would confront us with the growing concern for sustainability and the care of our planet—an urgent demand placed upon us by the current Anthropocene. Thus, the four short films that make up this year’s cycle, titled “Rural Cinema, a Tool for Wisdom and Understanding,” spark different ideas and express themselves through various tones to bring us closer to regions of Spain and Mexico, as well as to the experience and culture that these places have preserved for centuries.

The short films in this showcase invite us to embrace new ways of engaging with these environments in a non-intrusive and non-destructive manner. Undoubtedly, the program they form conveys the idea that we must take action and that, perhaps, there is still time to change things.
