On the Intimate and the Strange IWP


Three international authors present their work following the conclusion of their residency at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. A conversation with the authors will follow the reading. 

Roxana Crisólogo Correa is a Peruvian-Finnish poet, translator, and cultural producer. She founded Sivuvalo Platform in Helsinki, leading literary and translation projects supported by Nordic foundations. Her poetry collections include Dónde dejar tanto ruido and Kauneus (Beauty), both in their third edition, and Esta canción no termina de salir de mi boca (2025). Her work, translated into several languages, has been published across Europe and the United States. She lives and works between Lima and Helsinki. 

Tomás Downey is an Argentine translator, screenwriter, and award-winning writer. He is the author of the novel López López (2025) and three short story collections: Flores que se abren de noche (2021), El lugar donde mueren los pájaros (2017), and Acá el tiempo es otra cosa (2015). His work has appeared in magazines and anthologies across many Spanish-speaking countries and has been translated into Italian and English. He teaches creative writing in Buenos Aires, where he lives. 

Florencia del Campo (fiction writer, Argentina/Spain) is the author of four novels and three collections of poems. Her most recent novel, Que tenga una casa (Candaya, 2024) won the Premio Brutal Best Novel 2025 according to SER radio. She has also published several children 's titles in Spain.
