El viaje a ninguna parte

El viaje a ninguna parte Instituto Cervantes

We celebrate the first Day of Spanish Cinema with the screening of the film Viaje a ninguna parte. This is an excellent film written and directed by Fernando Fernán-Gómez, an essential actor in Spanish cinematography, which addresses the history of a theater company touring the rural Spain at a time when cinema is beginning to dominate the leisure of Spaniards. It is a heartfelt tribute to the world of touring actors. Synopsis: A former comedian who is already retired in an asylum, Carlos Galván, recalls his old days as an actor in a small theater company, the Iniesta-Galván, under the direction of his own father, Don Arturo Galván. It was not a big company but, a modest family group that toured the small Castilian towns and villages in the postwar years, with a simple repertoire of comedies that they performed on any improvised stage.
