The virtual film club "Cita con el cine" dedicates its October session to the film "María Casares. The Woman Who Lived a Thousand Lives," directed by Xavier Villaverde, which portrays the life of this great actress. A woman reborn in exile after the Spanish Civil War, the protagonist of this documentary became a star of French cinema, which awarded her with a César Award in 1988.

Synopsis

This documentary brings us closer to María Casares, a woman whose life was marked by the Civil War and exile in France. We will experience with her the most relevant historical events of the 20th century in Europe, a life in which leading cultural figures intersect. Committed and tireless in her work, she permanently seeks bold and risky stage proposals that will end up making her one of the most acclaimed actresses of French theater and cinema.
