The Dead Man and Being Happy

The Dead Man and Being Happy Dani Sanchís

The third film by Javier Rebollo and screenwriter Lola Mayo returned to the world of solitary leading characters in whose silence they hide a stormy past. In the case of the role played by José Sacristán: Santos, a dying and hard man who flees from an inevitable end as part of a way of having lived, as a non-stop escape forward.

Without a doubt, this film includes one of Sacristán's interpretations where the versatility with which he understands interpretation is best exemplified.

Synopsis: Buenos Aires. On the top floor of a hospital, a Spaniard who has spent half his life in Argentina realizes that he is dying. This dry, funny, and sweet old hitman gets away with a happy shipment of morphine, heading north to nowhere. A girl he meets on the road will be his faithful squire.
