In 1953, Spanish actress Ana Mariscal began her career as a director with this comedy in which the influence of neorealist aesthetics is perceived, but also the tradition of picaresque characters, which she endows with a remarkable humanity. The movie is about a man from the province, who after the death of his mother decides to sell the modest family business and go to Madrid to improve his life.
